LHS choirs perform in Nashville

The Ledyard High School Chamber Choir and Select Singers have earned an invitation to the 2020 Festival of Gold at Carnegie Hall in New York City after their performances at the Nashville Heritage Festival at the beginning of April.

Chamber Choir received a gold rating and first place in the chamber choir division. It also received the Adjudicator’s Award for earning a score higher than 95, the only choir in the competition to earn the honor and the overall choir award for earning the highest score regardless of school size and choir type.

The Select Singers received a gold rating and first place in the women’s choir division.

The school as a whole won the Choral Sweepstakes for earning closest to a perfect score in the combined average of all ensembles in the competition.
