    JFEC hosts 25th anniversary International Film Festival

    In conjunction with local theaters, the Jewish Federation of Eastern Connecticut is hosting its 25th annual International Film Festival from May 14 through June 3. This year’s series features new and classic films, documentaries and shorts that address contemporary issues.

    The festival’s gala opening will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 19, at the Garde Arts Center in New London. After a performance of “A Besere Velt” by the Boston’s Workmen’s Circle Yiddish Community Chorus, the Garde will screen the 2019 Academy Award-nominated short film “A Night at the Garden,” followed by the full-length film “Who Will Write Our History.” Tickets to the gala opening are $20.
