Barrett-Jackson returns to Mohegan Sun for four-day run

Mohegan — Barrett-Jackson’s fourth Annual Northeast Auction of collector cars and automotive memorabilia returns to Mohegan Sun on Wednesday, the start of a four-day run.

Shell Pennzoil is sponsoring Wednesday’s Family Value Day with free admission for high school students and younger children. The event will feature an auction preview and activities associated with a new STEM — science, technology, engineering and math — Center attraction in the casino’s Expo Center. This year’s auction will feature a 1968 Pro-Touring Chevrolet Camaro Custom Coupe; a four-door, six-passenger 1969 Ford Bronco Custom SUV; and a 1970 Plymouth Road Runner Petty Superbird recreation built under the supervision of legendary racer Richard Petty.

On Saturday, General Motors and Barrett-Jackson will auction the final seventh-generation Chevrolet Z06 Corvette, with proceeds from the sale benefiting the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation, named for New York City firefighter Stephen Siller, who died during the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.
