New London to host ribbon-cutting at newly renovated park

New London — City and state officials, joined by youth from the community, are expected to gather at the newly renovated Bartlett Park on Friday for a ceremonial ribbon-cutting.

The state-funded $168,000 project recently was completed and includes two reconfigured basketball courts, an Americans with Disabilities Act-compliant walkway, a picnic area with eight tables and a renovated bathroom adjacent to the Broad Street fire station.

The project was designed with input from the Parks and Recreation Commission, which is hosting Friday's ceremony. The park is located on Broad Street near Connecticut Avenue. A basketball tournament will follow the 5 p.m. ceremony.
