National Night Out event planned for Tuesday in New London
New London — The New London Police Department will host its annual free night of fun for youth from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.
National Night Out at Ocean Beach Park will enable children, their families and friends to explore police and emergency vehicles, eat dinner, swim, enjoy amusement rides, play games with police officers and win one of 10 new bikes.
The community event is in its 10th year in New London.
National Night Out was created to promote and increase community involvement in crime prevention activities and police and community partnerships. It also is intended to demonstrate that New London police are committed to working with and embracing the community.
