A cargo van for pickup and deliveries to the Pawcatuck Neighborhood Center has been donated by the newly formed Ocean House Management Collection.

OHM, operators of the award-winning Ocean House, Weekapaug Inn and Watch Hill Inn, presented its first major donation from the Ocean House Fund for Charitable Giving this month.

The Pawcatuck Neighborhood Center is a leading resource for basic needs for people experiencing financial hardship in Mystic, Pawcatuck, Stonington, North Stonington and Westerly.

The Ocean House Fund was created to help children and families in need and improve local foodways. The fund raises money through special events, the sale of an annual collectable character, charity drives and guest and employee involvement.

Fund officials teamed up with Masse Automotive Group to find a Chevrolet express cargo van that best fit the center’s needs. Printing Plus put on a logo for increased visibility.

Susan Sedensky, executive director of the Pawcatuck Neighborhood Center, said the gift came at a critical time as its previous van became inoperable.

“This van will enable us to more effectively transport food and essential supplies for underserved people in our community,” Sedensky said in a release.

OHM created the Ocean House Fund in 2017, inspired by the generosity of OHM Founders Charles and Deborah Royce. Donations and distributions are determined annually by a committee of employees.
