Salem Lions host successful golf tournament

Lion Elby Burr tees off during the annual Salem Lions golf tournament, held this year on Oct. 7 at River Ridge Golf Course in Jewett City.

The Salem Lions Club held its annual golf tournament on Monday, Oct. 7, at River Ridge Golf Course in Jewett City. The weather held up to make for a sunny day of golf, with foursome Rick Butler, Gary Galasso, Jim Ryder and Jim Ryder Jr. taking the top prize. The day concluded with a dinner by River Ridge.

Proceeds from the tournament support the club’s scholarships and projects as well as organizations helping people with visual or hearing impairments.
