Two-day storm to bring several inches of snow, rain to region

What started out as snow Sunday changed to light rain overnight, and was expected to continue throughout Monday before again turning to snow in the late afternoon or early evening, according to Western Connecticut State University meteorologist Gary Lessor.

He said thet while some schools may have delays, he did not think schools along the shoreline would have to cancel class.

"Tuesday morning there's a better chance for a need of a delay," he said.

By the end of Tuesday, Lessor said there's a chance of up to 4 inches of snow on the coast and 2-5 inches inland.

"I think people are hearing a two-day storm and thinking it's going to be continuous and heavy when it's not," Lessor said.
