Norwich Free Academy art teacher placed on paid leave

Norwich — A veteran art teacher at the Norwich Free Academy Sachem Campus transitional program has been placed on paid administrative leave for an undisclosed reason.

Art teacher Jason Rosen was placed on paid leave Jan. 14 until further notice, “pending the outcome of an investigation relating to your employment,” the brief letter from Head of School David Klein stated. The letter instructed Rosen not to be present on school grounds, perform any work nor use email or work systems “unless otherwise instructed by me or my designee.”

NFA released the letter to The Day through a Freedom of Information request for all documents and correspondences pertaining to the action. NFA spokesman Michael O’Farrell said there were no other documents pertaining to the request.

Rosen was hired by NFA on Aug. 28, 2012. He could not be reached for comment.
