Norwich — Uncas Health District and World Sikh Parliament Welfare Council will hold a free mask distribution from 3 to 5 p.m. Thursday at the Norwichtown Shell station, 168 W. Town St., Norwich.

This will be Sikh community’s fifth mask drive in Connecticut. They will also be distributing hand sanitizer and face shields.

“There is still need to promote education and awareness among people about benefits of wearing a mask,'' Swaranjit Singh Khalsa, member of the World Sikh Parliament, said in a news release.

“I truly appreciate the World Sikh Parliament’s willingness to support this free event,” Uncas Health District Director Patrick McCormack said in the release. “I hope it serves as a friendly reminder to stay vigilant while providing free masks to those that need them.”
