North Stonington Garden Club names scholarship winner

The North Stonington Garden Club has named Ledyard High School graduate Virginia McChesney as the recipient of the 2020 Anna Coit Memorial Scholarship.

The $1,500 scholarship, named in memory of longtime member Anna Coit, is awarded to a graduating high school senior in the garden club’s region who is pursuing higher education in agriculture, horticulture, environmental science or related fields.

McChesney will be attending Huntington University in the fall to study agri-business management. She was recognized for her success in the LHS Agri-Science program, where she received numerous awards.
