New London group to host free food giveaway Thursday

New London — A local nonprofit is hosting a free food giveaway for residents on Thursday.

Organized by the group Keeping Kids Out of Prison, or KOP, the NL Feed the Fam 4Free Project will be held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday at the New London OIC, 106 Truman St. There will be one box of food made available for free per family. Each box contains 20 pounds of fresh produce, fruits, vegetables, meats and milk.

Sponsors of the event include KOP, New London OIC, Formerly Inc. and Hearing Youth Voices.
