Chelsea Groton Bank recently held a ribbon cutting for its reinvented Mystic Branch at 2 Water St., celebrating the occasion with a $1,854 donation to local nonprofit Work Vessels for Veterans. The ceremony was streamed on Facebook Live.

The newly designed branch features an updated layout for customers to conduct their banking business, including a video conferencing room and a lending library. The bank previously had conducted similar renovations at its Center Groton branch.

The Mystic branch still has a teller line, drive-up lane and walk-up ATM, though some banking options are limited amid the ongoing pandemic; the bank is continuing to host webinars on topics such as personal finance and home-buying.

“Our hope in reinventing the Mystic branch is that it evolves from a place where people go to perform transactions to somewhere they can learn to feel confident, comfortable, and excited about their financial future,” Chelsea Groton Bank President and CEO Michael Rauh said in a release.
