Old Lyme — The coronavirus pandemic has given new meaning to the phrase "painting en plein air."
Lyme Art Association instructor Hollis Dunlap has moved his figure painting classes outside to be extra safe during the pandemic, and says he plans to continue outdoors as long as the weather is nice. His students were working to paint model Lauren Goodale on the association's lawn Wednesday.
Dunlap said space has been cleared in the association's studio to accommodate social distancing, though possibly with fewer students, when the weather turns too cold to work outdoors.
