Norwich Public Utilities celebrates National Public Power, Public Gas week

Norwich — Norwich Public Utilities this week is celebrating Public Power Week and National Public Gas Week by posting information on its website and Facebook page to highlight the unique business models and benefits not-for-profit utility providers bring to their customers and communities.

Throughout the week, NPU will post information about the work the utility does every day to serve the community. NPU is one of more than 2,000 community-powered, not-for-profit electric utilities that collectively provide electricity to 49 million Americans. NPU is also one of 1,000 public natural gas systems serving more than six million customers across the United States.

“NPU is proud of the critical role we play in the daily lives of our customers — from storm response to the routine customer service issues that are part of our jobs every day,” NPU General Manager Chris LaRose said in a news release. “While we cannot celebrate with any public events this year, we hope people take a few minutes to visit our Facebook page to learn more about how we meet the needs of our customers every day.”
