In the Times: Back for a third week

Glad to have you back reading the third edition of The Norwich Times.

We have had a lot of great feedback about our first two editions, and want to emphasize our continued commitment to covering all the news in our readership area, most especially Norwich but also towns like Bozrah, Voluntown, Sprague, Griswold and Lisbon.

We are counting on you, so please send your news tips and stories to times@thenorwichtimesct.com.

Meanwhile, I thought I’d share some of the comments we’ve received so far from readers, both through social media and email:

“Just received the first edition of The Norwich Times and commend you and The Day for providing this new source of Norwich news,” wrote Dave Bishop (whose own story graces our pages this week).

“We love, love, love the addition of The Norwich Times to The Day paper. It’s so nice to see more in the way of ‘local’ news and such since we are Norwich residents,” said Lucie Pupillo.

“I was very excited to receive The Norwich Times in my mailbox Oct. 1. I enjoy reading articles and stories taking place in my community,” added Erin Dailey.

“We are so happy you are going to publish articles about residents in Norwich and the surrounding towns. We feel that is what readers like to see: local stories, as well as government news,” chimed in Jan and Ray Stewart.

But this is perhaps my favorite, from Barbara Crouch of Sprague: “It was great! First magazine or newspaper I have read cover to cover in a long time!!! Bravo!”

One minor sour note: We weren’t able to get papers to everyone, whether it was because people have post office boxes rather than physical addresses or our mailing list was off. So I urge anyone who wants the paper but did not receive one over the past few weeks to call (860) 701-4400 to get on the list.

Also, a reminder: You can find a digital version of The Norwich Times at www.thenorwichtimesct.com, where all of our Times columnists can be found as well, whether they are printed in our Norwich edition or elsewhere.

As always, enjoy! And stay in touch by writing me at l.howard@thenorwichtimesct.com.

Lee Howard is The Day’s community editor in charge of nine weekly Times newspapers.

Comment threads are monitored for 48 hours after publication and then closed.
