New London Beautification Committee names annual honorees

The New London Beautification Committee has awarded its annual honors for people, businesses and organizations that have helped make the city a better place via landscaping. In line with current restrictions related to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, awards were delivered on site rather than presented during a City Council meeting.

The New London Maritime Society received the NLBC’s annual award for its Briny Bank garden next to the Custom House, a collaborative effort between the museum, cadets from the Coast Guard Academy, and Studio 33.

The NLBC’s Thank You award was given to Cliff Marlow for donating river rocks for the committee to use for renovating the deck garden at Ocean Beach Park.
