Digital exhibit documents how COVID-19 is affecting New Londoners’ lives

New London — On Nov. 18, New London Landmarks launched New London Speaks: Voices from a Pandemic, a digital exhibit documenting how COVID-19 is affecting New Londoners’ lives.

“We received over seventy submissions, including photographs, writings, artwork, even a daily journal that spanned months,” said Laura Natusch, executive director of New London Landmarks, in a written statement. “People shared stories and images about a wide range of experiences, including parenting, protesting, grieving and giving back to their community.”

Natusch said that although the exhibit documents a dark time in our history, she thinks most viewers will find it uplifting because it also documents New London’s resilience, creativity and generosity.

“We’re grateful to everyone who contributed to this exhibit, and to CT Humanities, Connecticut’s State Historic Preservation Office, UConn School of Business, Ace Hardware, Connecticut College and Fiddleheads Food Cooperative,” said Natusch.

New London Speaks: Voices from a Pandemic will be visible at www.newlondonlandmarks.org through February and then archived.

Comment threads are monitored for 48 hours after publication and then closed.
