State Rep. Conley appointed to House leadership team

State Rep. Christine Conley, D-Groton, was appointed to the House leadership team as Deputy Majority Leader, according to a news release.

“I am delighted that Rep. Conley has accepted the position of Deputy Majority Leader," Majority Leader Jason Rojas, who appointed Conley to the position, said in a statement. "She is an excellent legislator who cares deeply about her community and the state of Connecticut as a whole. Rep. Conley's strong relationships with her peers in the General Assembly make her a natural fit for this role."

As Deputy Majority Leader, Conley “will work closely with the Speaker of the House and Majority Leader and will aide them in developing, reviewing and analyzing pieces of critical legislation,” according to the release.

Conley also will serve on the Transportation, Judiciary, and Planning and Development committees.

"I am honored by Majority Leader Rojas' appointment and I look forward to working with everyone during the 2021 legislative session," Conley, who represents the 40th District, said in a statement.
