United Way schedules food distribution events

The United Way of Southeastern Connecticut will host two mobile food pantries in Ledyard and Waterford this week and next. The distribution targets working families and others who need food assistance.

The first is scheduled for Wednesday at Ledyard High School, 24 Gallup Hill Road, and the second on March 31 at Waterford High School, 20 Rope Ferry Road. Both will be held from 4 to 5:30 p.m. to accomodate those who are working. No registration is required and no questions are asked.

In addition, the United Way is also working with the City of Groton on a Farmer to Families food box delivery on Tuesday from 3:30 to 5 p.m. at St. John’s Christian Church, 346 Shennecossett Road, Groton. For more information, contact Jill Rusk at (860) 446-4103 or ruskj@cityofgroton-ct.gov
