    Mobile registration unit for rental, electric utility assistance coming to Norwich

    Norwich — A mobile registration unit for the state’s new UniteCT rental and utility assistance will visit three Norwich locations Wednesday and next Monday to assist residents in filling out applications.

    The program provides up to $10,000 in financial assistance for past-due rent and up to $1,500 for electric utility assistance. The program will support households at or below 80% of the HUD Area Median Income. The UniteCT mobile unit will be in Norwich to assist anyone without computer access or who is having difficulty registering for the program.

    The unit will be at the Stanton Elementary School, 386 New London Turnpike, on Wednesday from 10 a.m. to noon.

    On Monday, April 19, the unit will be at the St. Vincent de Paul Place soup kitchen, 120 Cliff St., from 9 a.m. to noon and at the TVCCA office, 401 W. Thames St., from 1 to 5 p.m.
