Norwich Arts Center is calling on local photographers to show their work during a May exhibit. Cash prizes will be awarded the top three photos, with honorable mentions for other work.

Up to three photos can be hung at the NAC gallery at 64 Broadway in Norwich. All photographers, professional and amateur, are welcome. The exhibit will be juried only for prizes. For information and entry forms, see norwicharts.org/call-for-entries.

Entries can be dropped off between noon and 4 p.m. on April 30 or May 1.

Gallery manager Carol Dunn said all photographs types are being sought, including cell phone snaps, scanned images, altered photographs, realist, abstract, historical, candid, studio, color, and black-and-white.

“Photography is an awesome art,” Dunn said in a press release “We hope this show not only gives photographers an opportunity to exhibit their work but also encourages others to explore the potentials of the art.”

Beginning in May, the NAC galleries, previously open only one day a week, will be open on Fridays and Saturdays, noon to 4 p.m.

In the Galleries is a regular feature. To contribute, email times@theday.com.
