Cadets take an outing to the beach in New London

New London — A couple of Coast Guard Academy cadets decided to visit Ocean Beach Park on Thursday.
Grace Sickendick and Annie Buelt were talking as they sat on a life guard chair on the sand. They are roommates at the academy, where they are freshmen, and biked to the beach after classes.
"This is really not a bad way to spend a nice afternoon," Buelt said.
