Ledyard — Michael Sorensen of Mystic spent some time fishing Saturday along the pond at the Water-Powered Up-Down Sawmill National Historic Site.

He said he grew up in Ledyard and often comes to the site to fish, and he wanted to try out a new lure.

He mentioned that he has caught some nice pumpkinseed and large mouth bass — which he then releases — at the pond.
