A photo taken around 1900 shows a view from upper Main Street, looking toward Shannon Corner and Franklin Square. A trolley can be seen heading toward the photographer. In the center is the Norwich Savings Society building, with the Shannon Building across the street. Eaton Chase was a major hardware store during this period. The Eaton Chase block was demolished in the early 1980s to build the courthouse.
