New London — Tuesday was another sweltering day, with temperatures pushing above 80.

But 4-year-old Benjamin Sisco found a surefire way to beat the heat: riding his bike through the Whale Tail Fountain in New London.

His mother, Katie, said they decided to visit New London — they live in Mystic — to watch trains and practice his bike riding.  "He just learned how to ride like a week ago," she said, "and now he's taking off flying."
