Alix Cohn’s new location on Central Avenue, circa 1970s. He had just lost his tax battle with the city regarding his former location, the old tannery building on Norwich Avenue, and moved to this location. Shortly after, the tannery burned to the ground in one of the biggest fires in Norwich’s history. Alix also ran a dance joint out of the Central Avenue location, which was the original trolley barn and bus barn.

Ken Keeley is the author of 12 pictorial books on Norwich history. To purchase any of his books he can be reached via e-mail at: kenekjr000@comcast.net.
