Griswold — Families were busy selecting blossoms in the cutting field Tuesday at Buttonwood Farm in Griswold.

The 18th annual Sunflowers for Wishes fundraiser switched to a pick-your-own model this year, open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily, with a $2 charge to visit the cutting field and $2 per flower.

The fundraiser, brainchild of Buttonwood Farm owners Kim and Duane Button, opened July 24 and runs through Aug. 1. All proceeds go to Make-A-Wish Foundation; more than $1 million has been raised since the Buttons began the fundraiser.

After the blossoms have gone, the sunflower fields will be fed to the farm's dairy cows.
