East Lyme — Volunteers were busy putting the finishing touches on the East Lyme Walk of Horror on Friday at the East Lyme Community Center.

The Halloween scare trail is open Friday through Sunday from 7 to 10 p.m., plus a daylight opening from 1 to 3 p.m. on Saturday for younger children.

The event raises money for the East Lyme Police Cadets program. Volunteers began assembling the walk last Saturday and expected to be working right up until opening.

"I must get 15,000 steps running around here," lead volunteer Mark Halbauer said.
