The 27th Classic Band Competition was hosted by the Norwich Free Academy Wildcats on Saturday, Oct. 4.

The high school marching band competition featured 12 bands and color guards from across Connecticut and Massachusetts. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, this was the first time in nearly two years that most of the bands were able to compete.

NFA performed their out-of-this-world 2021 show titled “Rewrite the Stars” as a juried exhibition

The competition also featured a performance by the NFA Wildcat dancers during intermission. The evening’s performances highlighted each band and color guard’s talent, determination, and competitive spirit.

NFA was not part of the competition. The winner was the East Haven High School Co-op Marching Band.
