Great letter, Mr. Robert F. Welt (The Mystic Times, 11/4/2021)! Your remembrances of Mystic illustrate how the “New Mystic” and the modern tomato have so much in common. And I might add, how both are the products of the hustle called marketing.

For an analysis of tourism in New England: ‘Inventing New England: Regional Tourism in The Nineteenth Century’ by Dona Brown is recommended reading.
