City of Groton to hold workshop Thursday on developing climate resiliency plan

Groton — A public workshop will be held Thursday on a plan that the City of Groton is developing "to respond to climate change, sea level rise, and increased storm frequency and intensity," according to a news release.

The workshop will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the City of Groton Municipal Auditorium at 295 Meridian St.

"At this workshop, the City will report on progress so far, and review initiatives and projects recommended in the plan," according to the news release.

Four resilience concepts will be presented: tree plantings at Washington Park, rain gardens at the Municipal Building, a Green Corridor along Birch Plain Creek, and shoreline resilience measures on Shore Avenue, according to the release.

"Community members are invited to provide feedback on resilience recommendations, and to share their own perspectives, ideas, and experiences," the release states.

People are encouraged to register, but it is not required: tinyurl.com/GrotonWorkshop2.
