Lives of our Times: A Bozrah dentist’s ‘Lovelyland’

Editor’s Note: A few weeks ago, we reached out to readers asking them to tell us stories about local people, and this is one of our first submissions. If you have a story to tell about a local personality, email photos and Word documents to times@theday.com with “Lives of Our Times” in the subject line. Please keep submissions to around 300-450 words.

Dr. Linda Kronick from Linda’s Lovelyland is introducing us to a slice of her piece of paradise – which just so happens to include a dental office.

The property, which sits on 2.62 acres of land in Bozrah, is a thriving edible landscape that boasts 33 fruit and nut trees as well as a multitude of berries.

Dr. Kronick loves nature, and her family has a history of farming. Since the area is all old farmland, she felt this the perfect spot to make her dream come to life.

Dr. Kronick’s dental practice sits on this serene landscape. Laser Dentistry got its name from her focus on using lasers as much as she can to make her dentistry a lot more streamlined and comfortable. The laser also helps in the treatment of snoring and aesthetic procedures.

When asked what makes her passionate about dentistry, Kronick smiles and says, “I really enjoy making people feel better, and I enjoy teeth. I know it sounds corny, but that’s the truth.”

The dental practice, like the land it sits on, is unique in that patients here can expect to be welcomed into an experience with people who truly love what they do.

Aside from dentistry, this is Linda’s seventh year of being a sponsor parent for the Coast Guard Academy. Also in her free time, she loves to participate in triathlons and cycle for charities. Some charities that she has cycled to support include Camp Hole in the Wall and the Smilow Cancer Center.

Meandering around the grounds of Laser Dentistry, it is evident that Dr. Kronick takes great pride in her land. She grows four types of apples, six types of blueberries, two types of currants, kiwis, paw paws, plums, nectarines – and she is not done. If she is not inside the office, she is most likely outside pulling weeds. She adds that on occasion, some patients do get bags of fruit to take home.

Photography of the plants and flowers that flourish around the property, as well as homemade jam made from the berries grown on site, are sold to help support numerous charities. In particular, sunflowers are a staple here and are likely to be the first thing noticed when setting foot on the grounds.

Dr. Kronick plans to practice dentistry until her body decides she no longer can, which she says is a long way away. In the future, she would like to focus on some charitable endeavors, such as offering her dental services in Alaska, which she has done in the past. Her hope is that when things settle down with the pandemic, she will have the opportunity to return to Alaska.

As far as dreams for the future? Dr. Kronick would love to put another business into practice, which would bring smiles in an unrelated way.

“I want to open an ice cream shop and focus on flavors of the land,” she explains. “I’m going to make luscious lemon, I grow lemons downstairs, and beautiful blueberry, goofy grape. I want to serve healthy ice cream, and we will serve a double scoop with floss out the window.”
