    COVID-19 vaccine clinic to be held Thursday in Groton

    Groton — Ledge Light Health District has announced it will hold a COVID-19 vaccine clinic from 2 to 5 p.m. on Thursday at the Groton City Municipal Building at 295 Meridian Street.

    The Moderna vaccine will be available for individuals 18 years or older who need a first or second dose (primary series) or are eligible for a first or second booster dose, Ledge Light said in a news release.

    The following groups are eligible for a first booster shot at this clinic:

    • 18 years of age and older who completed a primary series of a mRNA COVID-19 vaccine (Moderna or Pfizer) at least 5 months ago.

    • 18 years of age and older who had a primary dose of Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine at least 2 months ago and would like a mRNA booster.

    The following groups are eligible for a second booster shot at this clinic:

    • 50 years of age and older who received a first booster dose of any authorized or approved COVID-19 vaccine at least four months ago.

    "Other vaccination clinics, including those for 5 to 17 years old, are available with our partner Griffin Health," the release stated. "All three vaccine brands will be available."

    "All clinics are free and open to the public," Ledge Light said. "No appointment, insurance, or ID is necessary."
