    Bozrah Democratic officers elected

On March 23, the Bozrah Democratic Town Committee held its annual election and selected a new slate of officers. Jeanne Goulart was chosen as the new committee chair; Michel Leask is the new vice-chair; former chair Michelle Arsenault will now serve as secretary; and long-term treasurer Nancy Renshaw was reelected.

Goulart, the newly elected chair, points out that the individual local Democratic town committees are “the backbone of the Democratic Party in Connecticut.” She reminds the BDTC that their direct mission is to identify and nominate suitable qualified candidates, not only for local positions but also for statewide and national offices. During the months leading up to the crucial midterm elections, they will be encouraging Bozrah residents to register to vote and then to participate fully in the voting process. They also plan to work with other Democratic town committees throughout the state to support candidates for state and national offices who will “support the values of democracy” as well as of the Democratic Party.

The Bozrah DTC meets on the fourth Wednesday of every month, in person at the Town Hall as well as on the Zoom platform. Any registered Democrat can attend the meetings. Goulart says that they are looking to involve younger Democrats in the work of the DTC so that their voices will be heard.
