Robert Boris announces he met Citizens' Election Program fundraising threshold

Groton — Robert Boris, the president of Command Technology and a Groton resident who is making a bid for the 41st District state House seat, announced in a news release that "his campaign has reached the necessary funding threshold to qualify for the state Citizens' Election Program."

The news release said he received over $6,000 in donations from more than 167 Groton, Mystic and Stonington residents. "To qualify for the Citizens' Election Program, a candidate must raise $5,800 from at least 150 residents living in the district," the release states.

"The bi-partisan support is both incredible and humbling ..." Boris, a Republican, said in a statement. "Voters are afraid of losing their decision-making powers to Hartford... They're tired of the political pandering, which does nothing but deter progression... And most of all, they're ready for a change: for a qualified, compassionate leader. I look forward to serving our community with empathy, experience, and expertise — and to fighting for the voices of the 41st District."
