Be an Angel: Helping hearts desired at Hospice
If you are searching for a way to make a difference in the lives of others, Hartford HealthCare at Home Hospice volunteers are a valuable part of the care the multi-disciplinary care team is known for delivering. There is a place for you that will fit your needs. Volunteer needs include:
* Make visits to homes and/or facilities to offer companionship for patients and respite for caregivers.
* Provide activities such as reading, singing and playing music.
* Provide massages and reiki sessions.
* Certified pet therapy teams.
* Provide emotional support, companionship, bereavement, veteran and vigil support when needed.
* Administrative support.
* Volunteer training.
Training classes will prepare you for your experience as a volunteer Mondays and Wednesdays in April: 20, 25 and 27 from 5-7 p.m. Other sessions are Tuesdays and Thursdays in June: 14, 16, 21, 23, 28 and 30 from 6-8:30 p.m.
