Time to license dogs in Stonington
Stonington — Town Clerk Sally Duplice is reminding dog owners that all dogs over 6 months old must be licensed by June 30 for the 2022-23 year.
Owners must show proof that the dog's rabies vaccination is current when applying for the license.
Applications may be submitted in person in the town clerk's office on weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., by mail or placed in the drop box outside the front door of Town Hall. To submit by mail, enclose the proper paperwork and a self-addressed envelope with two stamps on it for the return of the license and tag, and send to: Town Clerk's Office, 152 Elm St., Stonington, CT 06378.
The cost of a dog license is $8 for a neutered or spayed dog and $19 for non-altered dogs. After June 30, a penalty charge will be imposed of $1 per month for each month that the dog is not licensed.
For more information, call the town clerk's office at (860) 535-5060 or visit stonington-ct.gov and go to Town Clerk's Department, dog licenses.
