Waterford — Students bid farewell to ducklings with a parade Friday at Great Neck Elementary School.

Chants of "Ducky! Ducky! Ducky!" echoed through the halls as students cheered on the ducks, who will graduate to a farm.

Great Neck's literacy department helped the students raise the ducks in an effort to promote reading and learning. The staff and student involvement included weekly duck reports and a livestream of the ducklings' pen for constant viewing.
