Nolan accepts nomination for New London's 39th District

State Rep. Anthony Nolan, D-New London, recently accepted the Democratic nomination for another term serving the 39th District. A nominating convention was held remotely May 24.

“State Representative Anthony Nolan continues to work relentlessly to bring the voices of New London to Hartford. His courage and vision will bring us into the next century and we should be proud to re-elect him to represent us,” New London City Council President Pro Temp Reona Dyess said in a statement.

Zak Leavy, chairman of the New London Democratic Town Committee Chairman, called Nolan a “tireless advocate for our community and has represented all voices during his tenure.”

“We look forward to electing him again in November and watching his continued leadership for our City,” Leavy said in a statement.

New London City Council President Efraín Domínguez Jr. said in a statement Nolan’s “tenacity and unrelenting drive to represent his district at the State Capitol is worthy of admiration.”

Nolan, a New London police officer and former City Council president, said he was honored “to have the opportunity to continue to stand in a place to represent a great community. I will do my best to make sure New London has a better tomorrow.”

Noan has served as state representative in New London since 2019. A challenger to Nolan has not been announced.
