Lyme Art Association will hold two exhibitions starting Friday, “Ship to Shore” and “Renaissance in Pastel.”

“Ship to Shore” is a members exhibition which features a broad range of styles and mediums including paintings, drawings and sculptures. The exhibit is juried by Anthony Tomaselli. Tomaselli is a painter based in Providence. He apprenticed with Gene Tonoff and Joseph Rotundo and is represented by a variety of galleries.

Gallery manager Paul Michael said in a release, “This show acts as a survey of contemporary maritime artwork, celebrating the seas that connect us.”

Concurrently, the Connecticut Pastel Society will display its exhibition with some of the finest pastel work from the Connecticut Pastel Society member artists.

The exhibition’s awards are juried by Eileen Casey. Casey is a member of the International Association of Pastel Societies Master Circle and graduated from Emmanuel College in Boston.

In addition to the two exhibitions, Lyme Art Association’s youth exhibition, “Water All Around Us,” will be on display in the Mile Brook Gallery. The show will correspond with a family celebration day on Sunday, June 12 from noon to 2 p.m., featuring prizes for the first place winner in each age group (3-6, 7-9, 10-12, and 13-15, 16-18), certificates for each artist, and fun activities.

The shows run from June 10 through Aug. 4.

The opening reception and award presentation for the two exhibitions is Friday, June 17, 5 to 7 p.m. at the Lyme Art Association, 90 Lyme St., Old Lyme.
