Let's Go: Windham Historical Society hosting sculpture exhibit by two artists

Sculptor David Corsini with one of his works. Corsini and Richard Jaworowski will be exhibiting their works over the next two months at the Windham Historical Society in Willimantic.

The Windham Historical Society will be showcasing the talents of two local, yet nationally renowned sculptors – Richard Jaworowski and David Corsini.

This is the second exhibit in the Jillson Art Series held at 627 Main St. in Willimantic.

The opening night reception was held on Friday, June 10. The exhibit will be open to the public on the following weekends from 1-3 p.m.: June 18-19, June 25-26, July 2-3, July 9–10 and July 16–17.

Richard Jaworowski studied art at Southern Connecticut State University. His work has been shown at numerous galleries and shows across the Northeast.

His sculptures are displayed in museums, municipal buildings and at the UConn Medical Center.

David Corsini came from a family of artists, but has no formal art training. He grew up as a collector: butterflies, seeds from trees, shells and other natural items. He would often arrange these specimens into artistic displays.

During his youth he also developed a fascination with rusted metal objects and began to accumulate them. Upon his retirement he began to “make art” from these collections.
