    Delaware’s tall ship to visit New London

    The Kalmar Nyckel, tall ship of the sate of Delaware, approaches the mouth of the Mystic River on Aug. 28, 2020, while en route to Mystic Seaport Museum.     New London — Kalmar Nyckel, a 141-foot tall ship from Delaware, will be at the New London City Pier for day sails and free deck tours.

    The full-scale replica of the 17th century square-rigged ship will be in the city Aug. 18 through Aug. 21.

    It will offer 2½-hour day sails. Advance purchase is recommended. Sailing tickets are $65 per adult and $40 per youth 12 & under, and are available online at kalmarnyckel.org/sail-and-explore or by phone at (302) 429-7447.

    Free tours of the ship’s deck will be offered on Aug. 18 and Aug. 19 from 6 to 7 p.m. Tours of the ship are available on Aug. 20 from 2 to 7 p.m. in conjunction with a Pirate Fest from 6 to 9 p.m. For more information, visit bit.ly/NLpirates22.
