    Kids get free school supplies in Groton

The event was for children grades kindergarten through 10th grade, and they received free backpacks, school supplies and haircuts. The event was hosted by Groton City Police, the Groton City Police union, St. John’s Christian Church and Danielle’s Barber Shop on the Thames. Monetary donations to purchase school supplies came from from local businesses and Groton Youth Services.
