New London ―The annual “We Are New London” parade meant to showcase the city’s diversity will be held Sunday, Sept. 25 at 2 p.m. on State Street.

All participants are asked to line up before the parade at 1 p.m. on Washington Street.

Efraín Domínguez, chairperson of the parade, said in a news release that the parade was born out of a desire to showcase the richness of the city’s diversity among its people.

“It’s time to write the narrative of New London by true New Londoners who deeply care about the city they love and call home,” Domínguez said in the release. “We believe New London is more than what people hear or read. The people of our city, their beliefs, values and cultures are what makes us standout among other cities in Connecticut.”
