A fisherman’s view of Off Soundings yacht race

Fishermen and people on shore in the Groton and New London area had a view of Off Soundings Club’s 85th annual Fall Series yacht race taking place Friday on Long Island Sound.

Friday, day one of the two day event, the race started in New London and finished at a buoy off Shelter Island, N.Y. The yachts will race Saturday from a buoy off Shelter Island then sail around Gardiners Bay and finish at a Shelter Island buoy.

The Off Soundings Club is a yacht racing organization for experienced racing sailors based in southern New England and New York state.
