Ledyard―The annual Southeast CT Amateur Radio Society ham radio auction will take place Saturday, Oct. 29 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Parish Hall at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 1650 Route 12 in Gales Ferry.

A $5 per person donation allows people to bid on items and have them auctioned.

“This is our big fundraiser for the club, and it’s a lot of fun too,.” said Mark Noe, the society’s president. “From vintage radios to portable transceivers, antennas, parts and test equipment, radio enthusiasts always find plenty of treasures.”

The club maintains an FM repeater system that provides broad local communication capabilities for mobile and portable radio operators. It also serves as a back-up communications resource for public safety agencies in times of emergencies, such as hurricanes.
