    Mystic Halloween Parade to be held Sunday

    Mystic ― The Mystic Halloween Parade will take place in downtown Mystic on Sunday afternoon and culminate with a Trunk-Or-Treat and activities for kids at the B.F. Hoxie Engine Co. firehouse on Broadway.

    The Mystic Fire Department, in partnership with the Greater Mystic Chamber of Commerce, has announced the parade will gather at 1 p.m. on Water Street and step off at 1:05 p.m.

    The parade will follow a route beginning on Water Street, taking a right onto Route 1 and going over the drawbridge, turning right onto Cottrell Street, passing by Mystic River Park, then a left onto Washington Street, and turning back onto Route 1into the B.F. Hoxie Engine Co. fire station lot..

    Following the parade, there will be of activities at the fire station, including snacks and a trunk-or-treat behind the station. Several Stonington High School and Fitch High School athletes will offer themselves up to be mummified with toilet paper by the kids. The Stonington Bear mascot and Fitch Falcon will be there for pictures.

    Stonington students will collect for UNICEF at the firehouse. Children’s author Tish Rabbe will sign her book “Mystic By the Sea is the Best Place to Be” which was created as part of the 100th anniversary of the drawbridge.

    People can contact the fire department or chamber if they would like to participate as a vendor in the trunk-or-treat or donate candy.
