Beth Ladwig Leamon re-elected as probate judge

Beth Ladwig Leamon, a Democrat, was re-elected Tuesday as judge of probate for the Southeastern Connecticut Regional Probate Court in an uncontested election.

The District 30 court covers Stonington, North Stonington, Groton and Ledyard. Leamon was first elected to the role in 2020 for the remainder of Democrat Nicholas F. Kepple’s term when he reached the mandatory retirement age of 70 in September 2021. This will be her first full term of four years.

“I am honored and humbled to be re-elected as Probate Judge for Groton, Ledyard, North Stonington and Stonington,” Leamon said in a statement. “With the assistance of my experienced and efficient court clerks, my priority will be to continue to handle the community’s probate matters with compassion and efficiency. I wish to acknowledge the tremendous support of my family, friends and colleagues. Finally, many thanks to the residents of Southeastern Connecticut for their continued trust and support.”
