The competition was a relay style where a different athlete competes in each leg, and in this competition each leg was a different kind of ice cream treat.

The first leg was the Mega Mel a 32-ounce vanilla shake with rainbow sprinkles. The second leg was a Chocolate Lover’s Dream sundae. The third leg was a sprinkled waffle cone with mint chip and cotton candy ice cream. The fourth leg was a double order of ice cream nachos that had peanut butter sauce and Reese's Pieces candy.

The event was hosted by Mel's Downtown Creamery in Pawcatuck.

The two teams will meet again for their annual Thanksgiving day football game, which will be held at Stonington High School this year.
